"Energy Pull" printed by PictureFrames.com on Archival photo paper measuring 18"x14" to allow a one inch margin around all four sides. This makes it easy to mat & frame, especially since 16"x12" is a standard size not requiring custom framing.
The original "Energy Pull" was a painting I created on stretched canvas. The inspiration was a birdhouse that I see on my walks around the neighborhood. One day I saw a bird sitting on top of it and grabbed for my phone to take a photo. He was too quick and flew away, but I still have the photo of his house. I transferred this shape onto my canvas and let it sit for awhile in the studio. Then one day I picked up a ruler and began extending the architectural lines. Onto this I traced an object I found on the ground while out walking one day; it's arch shape with cut-out rectangles appeals to me. I'm not sure what it is, but it has inspired designs in many of my paintings (I've included a picture of this object in the photos). I then added larger arcs to repeat this design. Playing around with washes and patterns of paint gave me the idea that the lower half of this composition is under water. Thus, the fish.
