"Precious in His Sight" is an original mixed painting on stretched canvas. The painting measures 24" x 30”. The wood floater frame has a black matte finish and measures 25.5" tall by 31.5" wide by 2" thick. Wired and ready to hang.
The inspiration for this painting are some of the things sitting around my studio. In this case an old map and an odd-shaped vintage ceramic bottle that still has it's cork. I found this bottle in a second-hand shop years ago. It has become a sort of muse that I have used in some of my other projects. Sometimes it represents a tree, or a woman's figure, sometimes it seems masculine... In this case it represents a group of people.
When I was a child I learned a song with these words: "Red and Yellow, Black and White, they are precious in his sight. Jesus loves the little children of the world." These words are stenciled in the background of this composition. A world map is glued to the canvas, and I traced the bottle image around the world. One day I noticed my grandchildren peeling the papers off their crayons and got the idea to use them to represent the rainbow colors. I saved these peelings in a sandwich baggy to add to this painting.

✒︎ Tybo’s Tall Tales*: This is another piece about bottles, either this is later that night on the farm of @BottleOrchard, or his stash hidden in the back room. This may or may not be a sponsored painting. (Crayola, please don't sue)
