"Found Objects" from A Moment in Time*
The inspiration for this painting is a collection of found objects. I take my dogs for a walk daily; we love exploring various routes in our neighborhood. I almost always bring home objects I find along the way: wires, pieces of metal or plastic smashed into imaginative shapes from tires driving over them.
I glued this particular group of found objects to a piece of cardboard. I used this creation as a "plate" to imprint the objects' shapes onto canvas to make other paintings. But after that work was finished, I honored this piece by making it into a work of art.
Acrylic paint and found objects glued to cardboard, then adhered to canvas, on 16 x 20 x 1/2 inch wood stretcher
Unframed: $225 (measures 16 inches by 20 inches, 1/2 inch thickness)
With natural wood frame: $275 (measures 17.25 inches by 21.25 inches, 1.25 inch thickness )
*This is one of 15 paintings I completed for an exhibit with my art group in June 2019 at the Hoard Historical Museum in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. The theme of the show was "A Moment in Time".
