Pyramids of Color is a zine I made for a friend who needed a simple guide to start playing with paint. It took many drafts for me to pare this information down to a tiny color lesson for beginners with simple steps for mixing colors. It includes a fundamental list of supplies for when you're ready. Watercolor painting is easy to set up at a kitchen table. Most of what's needed can fit in a shoebox. I've never forgotten the advice from a college professor who said, "Have your workspace ready, even if it's just paints and brushes on a cardboard table in the corner of a spare bedroom. Having to set up supplies when a moment of inspiration hits can be discouraging." (something like that :)

Measures 4.25" x 2.75". Made by printing my text, drawing, photos & designs on 8.5"x11" copy paper and folding/cutting into a zine. In color.
