16 x 20 inch acrylic painting entitled "Kite Flyers"
Museum-wrapped (no need to frame), wired and ready to hang.
The inspiration for this painting came when I was out doing errands one afternoon. Driving through a quiet neighborhood, I saw a boy holding the leash to a big furry dog and a girl holding onto a kite. They were walking along the sidewalk. I was mesmerized by them and wanted to stop my car at a distance and take a photo so I could capture some of the details of the surroundings to compose a picture later. They moved very quickly towards the hill they were intent to climb; I almost lost site of them before I was able to capture a few reference photos. I needed to keep my distance so as not to distract them and also to preserve their privacy. My painting became more of silhouette of this observation that warmed my heart.
Below is my grandson's take on the scene. I try not to tell him too much about what's behind my work; I enjoy seeing it fresh through his eyes.
✒︎ Tybo’s Tall Tales*: This image is of a family bonding experience, where a parent is flying a kite with their child. It brings out the warmness of the moment, and the love of the event. This is meant to be a personal moment that anyone can have with a loved one, and that makes it special.
*My 15-year old grandson’s summer job was to stock my Etsy shop. One of his duties was to write about my artwork :)
