"Path of Least Resistance" is an original acrylic painting on stretched canvas. The painting measures 24” x 18”. The wood floater frame has a black matte finish and measures 25.5" tall by 19.5" wide by 2" thick. Wired and ready to hang.
I began the design for this painting by marking off a grid. I sketch a woman's face with charcoal in the center of the canvas referencing a photo of my mom when she was a young mother. As a halo over her head I used lettering stencils to print "Well, what was I suppose to do?" I used bobby pins and ink to press Xs in some of the squares. My mom used bobby pins to make pin curls in her hair. Up the left side, across the top and down the right side I added letters that spell out: THE PATH OF LEST RESISTANCE
✒︎ Tybo’s Tall Tales*: This piece is of a woman saying "Well what was I supposed to do?" This could have many different meanings, like "Well was I just supposed to leave the dog in the car?!", or "Well what did you expect when all we have is spaghetti sauce and eggs?!" Any way you look at it, it always has a deep place in our hearts.
*My 15-year old grandson’s summer job was to stock my Etsy shop. One of his duties was to write about my artwork :)
