"Energy Pull" is an original acrylic painting on stretched canvas. The painting measures 30” x 24”. The wood floater frame has a black matte finish and measures 31.5" tall by 25.5" wide by 2" thick. Wired and ready to hang.
The inspiration for this painting is a birdhouse that I see on my walks around the neighborhood. One day I saw a bird sitting on top of it and grabbed for my phone to take a photo. He was too quick and flew away, but I still have the photo of his house. I transferred this shape onto my canvas and let it sit for awhile in the studio. Then one day I picked up a ruler and began extending the architectural lines. Onto this I traced an object I found on the ground while out walking one day; it's arch shape with cut-out rectangles appeals to me. I'm not sure what it is, but it has inspired designs in many of my paintings (I've included a picture of this object in the photos). I then added larger arcs to repeat this design. Playing around with washes and patterns of paint gave me the idea that the lower half of this composition is under water. Thus, the fish.
✒︎ Tybo’s Tall Tales*: This image appears to be of flying sharks, being pulled in by a majestic eagle's massive bird house. I wonder why the eagle needs such a big house, that it can fit sharks in, but who knows... maybe he has a pool table ;)
*My 15-year old grandson’s summer job was to stock my Etsy shop. One of his duties was to write about my artwork :)
