"Fight" is an original acrylic painting on paper, then adhered to a wood cradle (open-back box).
I was inspired to create this painting while flipping through a book of Chinese watercolor instructions; the birds in the sketches show lots of movement. My version does not reflect the peaceful flow of the Chinese painters, but I enjoyed depicting action and expression in my birds. Onto this painting I traced an object I found on the ground while out walking one day; it's arch shape with cut-out rectangles appeals to me. I've included a picture of this object in the photos.
The finished piece is sealed with a matte medium glaze and measures 9 by 12 inches. Wired and ready to hang.
✒︎ Tybo’s Tall Tales*: This image is of a fight between siblings arguing over who gets to dry their feathers in the bathroom, that escalated into a battle for bloodshed. As the parents sit back, and the dad says "welp.. gotta get it out of their system sometime."
*My 15-year old grandson’s summer job was to stock my Etsy shop. One of his duties was to write about my artwork :)
