9" x 12" acrylic paint on stretched canvas cradle. Why a "dessert" sail? I don't know, but sailboats are one of my favorite motifs. My husband taught me to sail, and I used to take a Sunfish out on a small lake by myself. Even if I tipped it over I could right it by pulling on the daggerboard and flipping it back up out of the water. I'm not the best sailor, but I DO love feeling the wind on my face :)
I found a piece of metal (arch-shaped, with cut-out sections) on one of my daily walks. I'm not sure what it is or where it came from, but it has inspired designs in many of my paintings. I originally created this painting in 2017 but put it aside because I wasn't happy with the colors. Recently I revised it with by sanding the surface and reapplying certain areas of acrylic paint.
