It wasn't until I added the description of this piece that I realized what it's about, at least for me. I began with description information...
- Framed in floater frame, outside measurement 11.5 x 15.5 inches
- Mixed media painting on watercolor paper soaked and stretched over a wood frame. Graphite drawing and acrylic paint with found objects sewn on.
...then continued with how I worked on this composition...
"I love finding shapes of things out on my walks. I collect them and use them in my artwork. The arch shape is one of my favorites that I've used over and over again. The "note" shape is some kind of plastic object (I have no idea - maybe a straw?) Anyway, sewn onto this composition of lines, it reminds me of my piano music."
...and here's where it gets interesting...
"The rock was shaped like a heart; that's what caught my eye, but by the time I reached home and emptied my pockets it had broken into three pieces. It is preserved the way I originally found it here on this artwork about grace and love...and maybe broken hearts."
